Maybe I'm just Primarch level cynical but I doubt Mr Hall had much choice in the matter. Andy is still an employee... he goes where he's told and does what he's told or he becomes free to pursue exciting personal interests elsewhere.

I think that there are a number of points to focus on here. One, is the above quote. Anyone in employment will know that you do what your boss tells you to do. Not only that, but Andy joined GW, not SG, and clearly has an interest in the core games. Yes, he cares about the SG range, but he has an interest in the main games that we (generally) dont share. If his boss says 'work in WD and get back to your roots', he has to say yes and thanks for my employment.

Secondly, we should not confuse the issue about the lact of progress on the ERC rules review. I am sure that this is progressing as quickly as possible. We have all taken an enthusiasm hit with recent and not so recent events, and sometimes things are moving behind the scenes even if we cant see them. Has it taken a long time? Yes. Would I like the process accelerated? Undoubtably. But, this is a seperate issue from any SG related problems.

Finally, this site was originally set up for the support of Epic and BFG. It will continue to do so. If this means taking the mantle of development and progression then I am more than happy to continue.

I'm sure Andy has a thankless task when it comes to SG but, that said, he does create a rod for his own back sometimes - such as telling us Fanatic Online is going monthly so he can make it better - longer more in depth articles , work on exciting SG projects and pushing SG more mainstream when it emerges that actually its because he is doing WD

Half-truths and treating people like idiots doesn't exactly engender trust

So true, this is exactly the type of thing that puts me off. It practicly screams "We at GW think your morons and wont notice what we say isnt what we do." I argued long and hard when Fanatic went to monthly that it was nothing more than a downgrade to our already lackluster online support and was spoonfed this crap anser that it was to make it better. Well here we are with the real truth of the matter.

Well March has come and gone and there is still no movement on the rules review. If Greg is unable to fulfill his role as Epic Rules Champion than he should ask for help - there are plenty of people who would be happy to help.
At the moment the rules review is fast approaching a farce.

I have to side with Steve54 on this one.  This lack of rules review has dragged on long enough, and something needs to be done.  Now.  Not soon, because soon has come and gone, repeatedly.

"...but this is being worked on by volunteers..."  Sorry, this doesn't carry water with me.  When the various champions agreed to accept the responsibility of championing their portions of the game they agreed to two things: Quality work and timely work.  If a champion can't produce both then they shouldn't have accepted the position.  I was asked to accept a champion role with the E:A development and I turned it down because I knew that I wouldn't have the time to produce results in a timely fashion.  (In retrospect I should have anyway...)

There's been enough excuse making and calls for "just a little more time."  Either get this moving now or post what has been discussed and drop the endeavour.

Hmm, I do not. All to negative, Go and do something positive for the game. Write cool campaigns, scenarios., etc.

I agree.  I've been aggravated with the Rules Review for some time now.

That's also why I was aggravated with the "Can you do it, Neal?  Yesterday would be nice..." for the Chaos lists.  Had I agreed to it up front and had more direct control over the development process it would have been much different.  As it was, I was not prepared.  I did not have a complete list of the (often very good) clarity suggestions which I would have had with more warning, and had a very short turnaround time expected.

I concur with Blackhorizon.  Volunteers need a little more leeway than we would afford GW.  My understanding is Greg Lane has some personal things going on and they may have cropped up before he could 'pass the torch'.

How would any of you feel if Greg posted that his son had died?  Or he was in an car accident?

You don't know what is going on with him.  If you are concerned about how fast things are going, stop bitching about it and email him.  I have NEVER known Greg not to respond to an email I sent him with the subject 'Epic Question please respond'.  Never.

It could very well be that Greg is in over his head but I recommend we ask him if he needs help.  In fact, I'll do it for you, folks.  Satisfied?

I'm more concerned about models ... not rules ... and regardless, I hope Greg is alright ...

However if you're now driving the rules review then I'm more than satisfied to wait a bit.

I'm not.  In fact, I don't think my real life situation would allow it.

Moscovian - if something bad had happened I'd feel bad for Greg but not for any complaints about the rules review.
A month ago you delivered a message from Greg that everything was fine and the review was imminent

I wouldn't be so inclined to complain if the review wasn't roughly 2 years late
