This doesnt seem a normal problem, it has gone on for too long. Have you chmod'ed the files correctly? That is the only thing that I can think of, why the host would require the password to just view the html.

I have just got off the phone with Internetters, the company with whom the Epic40k.com URL was registered. It appears there was some confusion with the transfer of the URL from my name to Toms. Part of their system showed the transfer being fine, with tom as the new owner, part of the system showed me as the owner and part apparently showed Tom as the owner but still under my Company account, not as a unique account of his own. Generally - it was all rather confused.
Thus they were worried Tom was a tresspasser trying to pilfer our URL
Long and the short of it, We've got it straightened out & It should Definitely now be back up to speed in 36 hours.

Well, the Epic40k.com URL now points to the right host at least!
Use it and it comes up with a site - whoopee!
But it goes to the Netepic site...........
Hmmmm...........

I just noticed that myself. Right now they have done there bit, I get to do my bit , and tweak the server so both sites are accessable.
Basically it is now pointing to our domain, so it is under one financial package thus cheaper to maintain, reducing costs by about ?100 a year. What will happen here is that the main page which will go up tonight and will be accessable from www.netepic.org or www.epic40k.com will have two logos on it, allowing visitors to go to either site directly. They can then bookmark there favourite sites direct URL or continue to go through the main menu.
Both sites will be remaining unique, but some parts could do with closer integration. For example the EZine contains articles which are relevant to both systems, and the news page is also relevant for both systems.
So I thinking perhaps set the EZine up as a seperate subdomain on it's own? Then we have purely Epic40k and NetEPIC articles on there own sites and then the more generic (eg, modelling, painting, reviews, etc) get migrated to the EZines domain.
I could do with a vote on this guys... what is your opinions?
I will place a poll on the Epic and NetEPIC mailing lists and then merge the results to see what people think. But please do post your opinions here as well.

What will be the address of the www.epic40k.com front page? Personally, I would like to see the site run as a distinct entity. I can understand the reasons for sharing the server, and that is fine, but I am not so sure about a single 'menu' page. I would keep things as they are, with both sites on the server, but with different addresses and no obvious connection aside from the content.
What do other people think?

If you go to the old address Primarch; http://epic40k.com, then you get a blank screen, if on the other hand you go to the one netepic mentions, then you will get to the site, I was confused by this earlier on today...

And I hate to say it, but I am once again missing the left menu - is it still pointing to the file on your HD Tom?
Great work Tom, really appreciated, and guys, you gotta expect a few teething probs when you move a site like this
