Post subject:  Welcome to EpiComms v2!
Well, hello and welcome to EpiComms, version 2 - updated, upgraded and ad free. I am sure that you will all find this incarnation of these boards far superior to the previous version. This is a direct result of a few emails asking about the constant pop-ups, so please do email me with suggestions and comments, I do take notice.

A few things to set out:

1) This board now replaces the previous version. Topics can still be referenced from there. If you want to keep talking about threads in the previous boards, please start a new topic and add a link to the old topic. These old boards will continue to exist for as long as I can keep them going, but I dont know how long that will be. The previous boards are here:

2) I am still looking for a list of rankings. If anyone has any idea of some ranks, please EMAIL me your list of ten ranks. Dont post them, I like the element of surprise for other posters! :;):

3) These boards still need a few changes. Please post any comments and changes that you have about these boards, no matter how large or small, and any problems that you have. I will make a list and work on them as rapidly as I can. I will work on the various images and logos scattered around here.

The last thing to do is to thank and recommend www.proboards.com - check them out for hosted forums. Thanks guys.

I must say that this is a much improved forum. ?Congrats.

I like the look very much, and the amount of 'fiddling' available. ?I'm sure to have a play with several things.

If I come across anything I feel weird, I'll post it here.

Shame I lost my Princepts rank ?:( ? Still, I guess I can look forward to some new ones. ?:cool: ? I'll have a think of some ranks for you to consider. ?:;): ? (just trying out the smilies)

Its a shame we may lose some of the old posts. ?I did used to look at some of the old ones to remind myself of the old topics. ?Maybe I'll have to start a few new threads up ?:p

I like the 'invite a friend' thing at the bottom. Very handy. ?I think I'll use that a bit.

Well, time to look around some more. ?And leave my mark .

Okay, observations so far.

To be honest, there's pretty much nothing wrong that I can see so far.  My only gripe is that the IB icons showing new and old posts dont have a different enough colour.  The round symbols with IB in seem to be only marginally bluer than the others to show that a new post has been made in that forum.  I dont know if you can change this.  Either a darker blue, or another colour should do it.

Well, all of the icons and buttons and stuff are the basic ones. I simply changed the main logo and uploaded, with a view to going back and sorting things out like that later. The 'IB' circles will be some of the first things that will be changed. In the end, I want all of the buttons and logos personalised, so I am accepting any suggestions from any artists out there! Thanks for the comments, guys.

Well done for noticing... These boards come with about half of the smilies already added by default. I just went through and found some more of the cool ones. I also have the ability to add any others that we can come up with. So, if anyone out there is artistic and wants to get drawing, that would be great (but please dont simply take the smilies - or anything else - from other boards). I do keep messing around with things, getting them how I like them generally.

And you forgot this one:

As to Thread of the Moment, yes, that will probably make its return next update. There was no point putting it on the last update, as the boards were completely empty.

That would be me. Patriarch is my schizophrenic side. He allows me to change things around with no danger of locking me out of my own forums! I set up the admin group, the members group and the mods group, and thought that I needed a hybrid group, so I assigned him to it. I am sure that I will find a use for the hybrid group soon enough. I posted a few times to check that the groups were working, and then deleted these test posts. I keep him around in case I need him again later (got to stop referring to myself in the third person!).

Yes, Heavy Support is the third rank, and the first with rank pips!

Thanks for the welcome. I only signed up for the old Epic board yesterday...Then realised everything was moving.  :o

Oh well, I'm just glad I found a set of forums dedicated to my favorite game...And one that doesn't seem to be full of flamers and trolls (that's not a dig at the chaos headz  :p ).

Looking foreward to talking shop with you all.  :D
