I thought that I would let you know my plans for the next few days/weeks for these boards: 1. I will open up the original blue skin shortly. This wont be complete, and the grey will remain as the default skin until we are ready, but the blue is basically readable (although there is still a lot of changes to be made to it). 2. I will then open up a feedback thread for the skins, so that people can point out chanegs and all of the things that I have missed in the colours of these boards. 3. I will then restructure these boards. This will look like a big change, but in fact wont be as bad as it appears. These boards are going to be moved around. The end result will be four sections: - EpiComms: This area will contain all of the Epic boards in a single place, including a dedicated trade board for Epic. The NetEpic boards will also be located here. - GothiComms: The Gothic boards will be located here, along with a whole raft of new boards. - General: This section will need a name, but will deal with other wargames. - Web site: This will deal with this web site, and any general comments and threads about the forums in general. Two changes will need to be made as a consequence of all of this: 1. Name - The boards will be re-branded and re-named. EpiComms will live on as the title of the Epic section, but we will need names for the General Wargames forums, and the entire set of boards as a whole. 2. Mods - I will need to reshuffle the Mods around a bit. Some of you will find that you are no longer Mods for some sections, or are new Mods on others, but most of you will not notice much of a change at all. As ever, any comments on these proposed plans are welcomed. Thanks. |

Here's a suggestion for a name for the General Wargames section, or perhaps a name for the whole boards: "BattleComms". |

Sounds good, the few existing cross-board links could be a nightmare though. Hmmmm, names....will have to put the thinking cap on ![]() |

Now BattleComms I like. Any more suggestions? I have just contemplated the cross thread links as a necessary casualty. I would hope that the boards can handle them with a restructure (they should), but it is something that only experience can say. Thanks. |

In the Epic modelling section rather than have TOEG as part of the Epic modelling section to have its own section . |

Yes. There will be a subforum or seperate forum for the ToEG. I will need to think about this a little more, and this may be merged with the EpiComp forum and set so that (in future) they run at alternating times. |

Hi! How about "primarchcomms"... ..catchy aint it... ![]() Seriously though, I like the proposed new organization. I think its more intuitive and will be easier to post and find certain types of information. Primarch |

If you are expanding the forums I think that increasing the levels of sub forums would actually help keep them understandable. As you get more and varied data a flat directory structure starts to get in the way. Orde |

Yes, this is the plan. Having four main areas, split into various boards which each have forums on them should make a deeper structure easier. The main goal is to group topics better, so people who just want to talk about Epic only need to bookmark the EpiComms areas and it is all in one place. PrimarchComms... I will 'file' that for later ![]() |
