Hi Ian and Gang, I'm thinking that we could use an events forum under the general area to promote our own events and to discuss Gamesday and the like. Primarch's never-ending birthday keeps burying the events in general discussion! ? ? It seems like a good idea. * What do others think about an events forum? * Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Events can freely be entered into the calender for any type of event, and this will help to bring all of this type of post together. In addition, once primarchs birthday is finally over (the limit is 38 pages of thread, right?) then I will lock the thread. It is good fun, but is dragging on a little now.This should mean that events threads are not lost. As an alternative, how about posting events in the relevant 'Wargames' area, prefixed by 'EVENT' to make them stand out. I would rather not create another new board at this time, but if things get too difficult then I would do so. Thanks.

As one of the people who have been playing on the Primarch thread I feel the need to say something. Please do not try and blame the Primarch thread for an event thread not getting posts. Let's keep in mind how this forum works. If you post a thread saying come to my event and the only thread to receive posts after that is the primarch thread then your post will still show as second on that forum. Like this: Primarch thread Event Thread It does not matter how many posts are made to the primarch thread it still will only take up one slot above the Event thread. There is no way one Primarch thread could bury even one event thread let alone "all of them". The fact is, an event thread that is posted and does not recieve any posts will be pushed down by all the threads that receive posts. In fact, as an example look at the way the Gamesday Meet thread has stayed in the top three or so, it was because people were posting. So, bottom line is, if we need an event forum, great, but do not blame one thread for all the problems with event threads not receiving posts. When in fact most event threads are hyper focused (good for a small reagon at best) and thus do not garner lots of posts to begin with. dafrca

Hi! I realize that some of us may still frequent forums where there are less than polite converstions, but I think we all know by now that on this forum it would be rare for someone to "be mean" unprovoked and perhaps even after being provoked. As a word of advice for everyone on these forums, do what I do.... Unless someone tells me flat out I'm an a**hole, or some other equally hostile thing in a direct angered manner, I assume that the comments are in good faith and fun. I have yet to see someone here act in such manner, so, like I said, assume the best unless its overtly obvious to the contrary. I predict less misunderstandings if we follow this. Enough seriousness.... back to the Primarch thread..... Primarch
