Post subject:  Image uploads
Am struggling a bit with getting my photos onto the site - specifically the 1024 pixel limit. Quite often I want to link directly from Twitter, a photo storage site etc. At the moment I'm downloading the photos, resizing, re-uploading which is a bit of a pain (and I have to be honest, I'm lazy and a lot of the time I can't be bothered!)

I know I can upload as a file, but the photos aren't always downloaded if I'm linking from elsewhere.

Am I missing anything obvious? Very grateful for any advice!

Hi there. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you about this. I have removed the limit on image size for linked images. In theory this should allow you to link freely, however the database/server will have flood control size limits too.

Give it a try now and let me know if that solves the problems.

Was looking for a thread to see if anyone else had had trouble posting images, and found my own from 4 years ago lol!

This time I am getting a message: "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."
I have tried linking from both my Slickpics image library, and also first uploaded the images to DakkaDakka to try those but get the same result. The image is 1000 pixels wide

Not sure why you had issues with the first, I edited your post and got it to work. The second won't work because the extension isn't a recognized image format for phpbb (I'm guessing). It also looKS like this version doesn't support resizing either.

Yeah, webp isn't activated for these boards. They will resize (I think, I will need to double check) but only if an image is above a certain threshold.
