Thats the problem. eMail is handled by the email server on the web server... that I run. So, I cant even blame anyone else! But it is strange that it comes and goes like that, and seems to get through to some people and not others. |

I checked the server blacklist a few weeks ago and we were all fine at that time, so I am pretty sure thats not the issue. I suspect that its something with the outgoing server configuration, and that I will find a stash of hundreds of unsent/returned emails one day soon. |

Is it possible that it is related to when you changed the message limit from 30 to 100 (or whatever the new limit is)? Like, the messages above the old limit aren't triggering the email notification? I only suggest this because this all started after you changed the message limit (not that correlation = causation, and all that). |

But I made all the proper sacrifices to the Machine God! Its POSSIBLE that changing the PM limit affected something, somewhere.... but its very unlikely. As far as I can tell, the email notifications is an issue with the mail server, while the PM limit is purely a site setting. They should be entirely unrelated. Also, if it was affecting everyone, then maybe.... But I got an email notification about this topic.... |
