I have temporarily disabled the ability for new users to create accounts on these boards, after receiving approximately 175 new member activation requests over two days (it was almost a relief to get an offer of $14M from some friends in Nigeria after that lot!) I will re-enable this feature in a couple of days, hopefully after the spammers have given up and moved on. If you are a new user who requested an account that has not been activated, it is probably got caught in the spam filter (which I always imagine as a large, fine net mesh with chunks of processed canned meat stuck in it!). Please drop me an email at webdude@ and I will dig through the emails and activate your account. Thanks. |

Thanks for your vigilance! Why is it that there are so many deposed Nigerian noblemen with excess cash on hand these days? Makes you despair of human nature that they're unable to bribe their way back into prominance anymore. |

She was unbelievably hot, devastatingly intelligent, and with that cute british accent thingy going on. And, yes, her dad really was deposed and jailed and she was forced to flee the country. It's actually a pretty sad story. I once jokingly asked her where all the millions were hidden that she could smuggle out. She didn't know what I was talking about. Incredibly, she'd never heard of the email scams. And, no, like most people in that situation, she lost everything when she was forced out.  CS, great work standing guard against the spammers! |

Likewise, I knew a minor princess whose family was deposed and so she ended up selling clothes at retail in North London. She was incredibly cheerful about the whole thing, all things considered! |

None of these spammers have actually created any accounts that can post anything. In fact, many people have problems getting logged out of their accounts because the system is so tight. But, with over 100 new registrations awaiting approval every day, I cant tell who is genuine to activate and who to nuke from orbit. Even now, there are many times when I am unsure and I get emails from people asking why their account has not been approved. |
