Is that the reason the majority of old threads don't display the attached images, or is this something completely unrelated...? |

This must be a compatibility issue when we changed forum software, and the different way that the two versions handle quotes. The picture/attachment issue is more severe, as the attachment folder was lost a short while ago (I now include this folder in backups!). ![]() |

Yeah the picture/attachment thing is the bigger problem. There are still a number of army list that aren't downloadable and lots of old pictures have gone. Good thing you're at least backing up from here CS. |

Have you considered removing the attachment ability for photos if its possible to do it? (I know you'd want to keep the ability to attach documents, thats a big part of the board). Instead just get everyone to host on photobucket/whatever the other ones are called? Would probably cut down a fair bit of bandwidth and storage space. |

That tends to dminish community. I cite Starship Combat News and Epic Battles DE as examples. |

Off site photos have a really annoying habit of disappearing. Just look at the much talked about, but little seen De'Aynes gallery. ![]() |

Yes, in my experience, this causes more problems. I am a member of several boards which require you to off-site host, and there is little worse than going to a thread to find all of the pictures gone because the member cleaned his flicker account. |
