Is there any way to stop the Gothiccomp posts from appearing in the New Posts list when someone votes?

I expect that there isn't as this happens on almost every site but I thought I would ask anyway :-)

 I am afraid that the boards register a 'new post' when someone votes. I could probably dig into the code behind the scenes and stop this, but there would be a real danger of me causing more damage than I solve!
