As long as you don't do like librarium online - aka banner spamming site.

But some nicely placed banners, maxed at 3 would be an idea to generate income.

CS, is this a size issue or number of connections? I assume number of connections from the error message.

That is the irony. The current hosts give unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage space. The issue is the number of database/server connections.

A few ads would be fine, and a good start. I will need to investigate some upgrade packages.

What does that mean (for us uneducated folk)?

I've made mention of it before but a prominently located button for the ebay link is a no-brainer as I see it.  People here do eBay all the time and the only thing that keeps me from linking through Tactical Wargames is I just don't think about it until after the fact.  Out of sight, out of mind.

That would add 'something' to the coffers.

Basically, there is no limit to the number of posts that can be stored and the world can get to them whenever they like, as often as they like.

The problem is that too many people are trying this at the same time, and the server holding all this data is not solely used by Tac Comms.

So its not to big, just too popular!

And what, exactly, is happening when it shows that that are 200-300 guests, each opening multiples of the same threads?

Like 10-15 instances of multiple threads open when viewed via  "View Online List".

I could tolerate a few banners to generate revenue. Heck, I'd even be willing to throw in some clams if it would help support my favorite website.

The eBay link is a straneg thing. Initially, the link was run through a company that did this kind of web click traffic type thing. And Lo, things were good. I got a couple of cheques and it was in danger of paying for a few months hosting.

Then eBay decided that they would run the web click link side of things themselves directly. Since then, although the total creeps up - so I know that it is working - they have changed the structure and I have had zero return on it for over six months. I know that a more obvious button would help this, but I suspect that eBay are trying to get me to advertise their site and minimise the cost for them to do so.

I will need to follow up on this.

I have made a minor change. I doubt that this will have any effect, but I wanted to test it. Please let me know if you notice any difference/improvement/worsening.

In addition, I have now put some bot-spray down on the server to keep the nasty bugs away. Please let me know if you notice an improvement, or even if you notice things worse or no change at all.

I rely on your reports.

Thanks.

I had one problem this early morning (before you took the forum offline) and since then not a single issue.
