Hi Everyone,

I bought a few new minatures with my favorite local shop closing and had the idea to ask what others are using for proxies so...

What are you using for Epic proxies (substitutes)?

Please list the miniatures manufacturer and what it is substituting as in your Epic army.

For Example:

I am using:
7053: KDM Fenri Gunship: on Page 3 of the gallery
- As a proxy for IG Valkyrie fliers.
http://www.reapermini.com/scifi....=7053_G

I bought:
7029: Hughes-Marietta Lance Tank (2)
- To use as Shadowsword proxies.
http://www.reapermini.com/scifi....=7029_G

I also bought:
7017: Assault Grenadiers (12 w/ 3 bases)
- To possibly use as Dreadnoughts.
http://www.reapermini.com/scifi....=7017_G

I also bought:
7016: Assault Grenadiers w/ Heavy Weapon (12 w/ 3 bases)
- To possibly use as Dreadnoughts.

What are you using?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Max,

Those are all good "subs." I have seen the Reaper site, they have a lot of good models. I don't have very many "subs", in my Armies, but:

- GZG,
- Adler,
- S.J.'s OGRE,
- Gladiator, &
- Brigade

All have acceptable models for use with Epic. If G/W ever "banishes" Epic to the same plane of reality as the Squats, there are a lot of options ...

Until the new IG troops come out I am using some H&R Modern Troops mounted on the normal Long Bases. They are slightly small, but look nice next to the Tanks and Chimeras.

...And at $4 for 50 it is hard to beat the price.

Hi guys, its Horseman. Yes, the same one as on the playtester's forum.
Thank you CyberShadow for informing me on this forum.

To the topic: I made some proxies for myself without actually buying anything. Used a combo of Paintbrush + Photo Editor + Lot Of Time And Patience.
Results are for now: Space Marines, Tactical, Assault, Terminators, and Necrons: Flayed ones, Warriors, Immortals. The Warriors and immortals come both in "Lord" and "no Lord" variants. Just copy them into MS Word, print, then cut out and glue.
I even rememberd about the tiny "flaps", or whatever it is called, to allow attaching them to the bases. Or using the "flap" as the base itself.

Oh, and made a test Sisters Of Battle proxy as well.
It shows all six Orders, and is more for fun than real use.
If you'd like, I may uploasd these on EpicA yahoogroup for you to see-and use-them.

If this is not what you meant with "proxys", then I'm sorry.
I understand Proxy as a cheap replacement, that one can do almost anytime, without spending large amounts of money.

5th-Horseman,

Welcome to the site. We're glad to have you.

Any replacement is a proxy so you're right. Usually we mean figures, but paper cut-outs work well too.

Where can I get ahold of your Necron paper proxies?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Ok. I made the paper cut-outs, cause I don't have access to Epic minis or any ones in this scale. Besides, I'm collecting cash to buy Warhammer 40k. This hurts my wallet.

And just making the replacements was fun.

Where you can get it?
In a minute, I'll upload them to the EpicA yahoogroup:
groups.yahoo.com/group/epica

As mentioned, there are only a few of these, if you like to modify them it's OK, just inform me 'bout this. And upload these to yahoogroup.

Oh, I mad ea single SoB proxy too. But it's not in this pack.

I thought I'd mention that 5th-Horseman has made a second set of proxies available at the E-A Yahoo group.

They're great!

I was looking at TMP when I noticed these excellent Tyranid proxies:

http://theminiaturespage.com/news/?id=637047

They're called: Megaworm (7 Figures) "Spezies 479"

From this company: http://www.excaliburminiaturen.de/

For a 25mm sci-fi game called: Fearless

I think they'd make great Tyranids.

Maksim,

Those are great bugs. I mentioned this before, but...

- Brigade has a great line of 6mm bugs too.
- Adler has some 6mm K'hiff - Canine Humaniods ?! ?

I've seen the 25mm models, so I may just order some of the 6mm to see what they look like. They may make good G/S hybrids? Like I said there are a lot of good 6mm models out there ...

If you ever order those 6mm Adler figures, let me know. I've been dying to see what they look like. I've seen some of the marines and vehicles and they are outstanding. Really great figures.

I have the buildings that they make, but I haven't based or painted them yet.

I'll let you know Maksim, if I do, that site has a few other terrain bitz I might like to buy, too.

I like Adler's buildings as well and also Old Crow has some nice buildings that would make great Tau structures. But I better stop before I talk myself into another order or many orders!

Legion-4,

Actually what I meant was that I could take digital photos and save you the trouble of buying copies. You could see them ahead of time. I have a pile of other things to take digital photographs of as well such as the spare infantry proxies you sold me. Primarch wants a gander at them!

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
