There's been a lot of debate about how best to incorporate variant Titan weapons into normal Imperial armies (Armies other than the AMTL) in Epic: Armageddon over time, with two basic schools of thought on how best to do this. EDIT: Here's a link to a recent discussion on this topic: http://www.tacticalwargames.net/cgi-bin....39;st=0 Here's a Titans weapons-costings list myself and a few of the forum members here have worked on: http://www.tacticalwargames.net/cgi-bin....;t=7360 Here's the AMTL 2.0 one-cost-fits-all list: http://www.dysartes.com/AMTL/AMTLv2.pdf |

My personal preference has been stated elsewhere... but let's vote! FIRST SYSTEM Pros: - The list is very simple to work with. All Warlord Titans cost 850 points, all Warhounds 250, etc. Cons: - This system results in 'bland' Titans, where all the flavour and special rules of the better Titan weapons has to be removed in order to make no weapon superior to another. (Ie: Vortex missile becomes just another flavourless one-shot) - Certain Titan configurations undoubtedly result in underpriced, cheap & over-effective support for certain armies (ie: cheap TK power for Marines). - Weapons system combinations are not limited in the background, but they are in this type of list to prevent Titans becoming too powerful. - Head / Upgrade types have to be limited in number otherwise the principle of simplicity behind the list is lost. SECOND SYSTEM - Titans should be priced according to their weapons fit, with the hull costing a set price, and the individual weapons costing a certain ammount each. As a consequence, weapons can be given a wider variety of stats; some Titans will be indisputably more powerful than others. Pros: - With a wider variety of weapons stats available, interesting & flavourful weapons like the Vortex Missile, the Warp Missile, the Head varients etc, can be returned to Epic: Armageddon. - Unlike with the single-cost system, cheap synergistic combinations will not exist. - This system is more like the background (Where weapon systems are not limited) than the one-cost system. - Upgrade modifications do not have to be so strictly limited in number. Cons: - It is more complex to build a Titan. Your Warlord will not always cost 850 points. Sometimes it'll be a little more, sometimes a little less. If you take a supremely high-powered combination (Say four Volcano Cannons & a Deathstrike Cannon head), it may cost well over 1000 points! |

I prefer the "Weapons by Cost" method as opposed to "All Titan Cost the Same" method. I also like to vote. |

Note: If you have any objective pros or cons to be added to the list, post below and I'll edit them in. The Pros and Cons listed are not even vaguely objective but are instead laden with assumptions. Details in the other thread so as to not hijack this one. |

Please write your own pros and cons. Attempting objectivity, the pros and cons I listed above appear to be the most common opinions. However I'll move them to the second post to make clear they are only my interpretation and not (entirely) fact. My refutation has been posted in the other thread. ![]() |

There isn't an option for "priced differently for the weapons AND THE CONTEXT OF THE LIST" Still a factor. Lord =I= |

I voted #2 ... but to make things easy ... standardize configurations; like on Naval vessels. Or on the old AT1 Cards. However this might require a lot various configurations ... |

If not more ... We made data cards for each of our Titan Configs ... based on the AT1/CT rules. And the model reflected that ... those pics are posted on the 6mm modeling link ... For example we never use C/Cbt Wpns (like putting a ram on the USS Mo. !?!). Our concept was that Titans are Super Heavy Mobile Wpns Platforms [SHMWP]... Move on to the board and start blasting away ... take out the OPFOR's Titan(s) first, then TKs/SHAFVs/FA, etc. So configurations, for us would include, Heads types, Missiles, Lgt Spt Msls, etc. ... But as always DWWFY ... ![]() |

But as always DWWFY ... ![]() I get that this means something like 'do whatever you feel like'. But that's not good enough, we need a standardized system... right now Epic has a titan-shaped hole in it. Originally due to lack of funds, and in latter days due to inertia. So yeah, we might as well try getting the beast moving again... |
