I was following that thread and here is the "in between the lines translation" of it:

Fanatic games don't sell well enough to justify sending stuff there. No game that doesn't sell on par with the core games such as 40k or warhammer will EVER get the support or resource allocation they do.

Never mind that there is a implicit vicous cycle in this line of thought:

no resource allocation--no product availability--no sales--no money made--which justifies not allocating resources in the first place.

Unfortunately while Jervis points out a very real issue about supply cost versus amount ot be sold, I think one should point out that even in places where this is an issue like GWUS, there WILL be store managers who will not order any Epic stating space constraints of other such things.

So while there may be some cost issues, there are also store "attitude" problems I think GW should look into.

Hello. The Necrons are back.
I have just finished the v 2.1 of the Necron army list.
The changes might seem purely cosmetic at the first glance, but at the second one you begin to see their true nature.
Most important is streamlining and cutting down many of the special rules I have performed.

IMHO, this version of the army list is going to be what we can consider "final" version, ready to be passed on to Jervis Johnson for purpose of him creating an official army list for the Necrons.

In the interview published in the last issue (14) of "Incoming!", Jervis said he is going to do the official Necron list as the next one, so it's about time I finish tinkering with the special rules and stuff. Currently it is about correct. Most issues you have told me about, primarily the complication of the special rules which slowed down the gameplay was dealt with.

Sufficiently to say, this version is maybe not the first to satisfy me, but of this one is what I am really proud of. This is probably the pinnacle of what I can make out of an army list, of course not without your most kind help and suggetions.

This time I'm not going to gloat over what I have changed to better. You will simply have to check this out yourself to believe.

Duh. I dunno why the links aren't working.

Anyway, get them from:
groups.yahoo.com/group/epica/

Go to the files section. At both groups in the files area there are Necron sub-sections. Go there and download. BTW: at epica_lists there are two of them, download the newer one.
As for comments... you can post 'em here, send them on my personal e-mail adress, or go to the EA playtest forum thread.
Either way, your comments will be taken in account when (IF!) I'll do the next version of the list.

So, based on the comments in the obsolete models thread, has anyone taken a stab at SAG stats?

How about:

infantry, 15cm, 6+, 6+, 6+
SAG - 120cm range, 1BP, disrupt (no indirect fire)

Cost +50 as upgrade to Big Gunz, possibly 0-1 limitation.


I think the BP can represent snotlings coming out of various locations (orky technology is not necessarily consistent) and scrambling madly.  It also gives them a better chance to hit infantry than armor.  And obviously, disrupt is due to the fact that you still have to deal with the little buggers, even if all they are doing is chewing on your kneecap armor.

Of course, the BP becomes somewhat problematic if you are combining soopagunz BP with them...

It sounds okay.  I'd definantly have the disrupt ability.  What about the range?  120cm sounds very long.  Though I dont know what the previous incarnations stats were.

It used to be LoS, no limit.  I figured 120cm would be good enough.
