I know Jervis said a Farseer Stand should be "four Warlocks and a Farseer". I do not have a lot of them thus it would impact my ability to field command stands. I was curious, what are you guys doing or what have you done? Do you already have them set up that way? In your guardian hosts do you have a full stand of "Warlocks/Farseer"?
I am thinking of only doing the Full stand with my Farseer council but just have a stand with a farseer and four guardians in my normal War Hosts. However, I did want to know what you guys are doing first.

Dafrca,

I have every sort of flavor of Eldar command stands from the older stand with five Warlocks to newer ones with various combinations (I have a large Eldar army and liked playing them very much at one time).
I wouldn't worry about the stand composition since Jervis has said it will be loose. I'd take his statements as "advice."
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
P.S. Where did your handle Dafrca, come from? I'm curious.

My handle came from my name and frustration. Let me explain. My last name is Casquilho. Neither an easy name nor a common one. For a long time I used it as my handle on boards etc. One day, Yahoo groups took over a board I was a member of. Yahoo Groups demanded I re-register. Well they claimed someone already had Casquilho. I was shocked. After trying about 10 names I was not a happy camper. The as almost a joke I used the first two letters of my first, middle, and last names. dafrca was born. Yahoo groups took it and I have used it ever sense.
As a side note, I also found out I had a distant cousin I did not know about, ?Casquilho? on Yahoo groups.
Anyway, that is the less then exciting story of dafrca. :-)

Cool. I often wonder where and how people get their handles.
As for Farseer stands, one of the main reasons that I snapped up a load of plastic sprues recently is so that I can customise my character stands. I want my Imperial Guards to have an Eldar advisor (with a little story about it), and I want my Farseer to have an exarch bodyguard for one formation and maybe on his own for a second one. As long as everyknows what it is (and it should be the only stand with a Farseer represented on it), then it should not be a problem.

We have 4 Warlocks + 1 Farseer = Farseer & 5 Warlocks for the Council. ?And a few other variations for other Warlock or as they call it now Farseer Council, from other Craft Worlds. Mixing Guardians with Warlock(s) would make sense. ?We also use "Banners" as in SM1 to further identify leader units. ?Of course as I said in the past, before you glue and paint, wait to see what Jervis comes up with many "moons" from now, if you can be patient ? ? ?

Quote (Legion 4 @ 10 2003 April,08:05) | Of course as I said in the past, before you glue and paint, wait to see what Jervis comes up with many "moons" from now, if you can be patient ? ? ?? | I have two things going on;
1) I have more Eldar then I need and thus I am attempting to decide what to keep and what to pass on through trades or sale. Most of the troupes are already based thus I am looking at what based units to keep as well.
2) I guess I could just play my Marines for now and wait to play the Eldar until later. Or I could just ask the people on the forum for advice, make a choice, and then have fun
So I'm thinking I will absorb all the advice I receive from you great people and then what ever I do will be OK because I will like it. As we will be playing in our group 100% of the games I think this will work.

Hi Guys,
Many of you would have seen (and participated in) the campaign issues on the EA playtesting board. There were many great proposals put forward toward this, but tghey are mostly for methods of accruing experience and the rewards of battlehardening.
I recall seeing a good set of (GW sponsored if not produced) campaign rules for 2nd Ed. It was kind of a map system where you divided your army into main battle detachments and scouting forces and manourved them aorund. It had some very basic supply line rules as well, and fatigue rules.
In short, it was a very basic wargame, abstract enough not to encumbre with extranoues detail, but enough to get forces into contact and battel it out on the table top (and it was a refreshing change form playing "Fire in the East" as you fellow grognards would knwo )
Anyhow, the point is- has anybody got a copy? I unfortunately dont, but would like to get a set so I can use and modify them (of course!) for EA and get a small campaign going.
Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

We had the Empire of the Stars campaign system set up on the EPICentre at one point.
It was a NetEPIC/BFG crossover, and was quite popular locally, never made much of an impression on the net. (Although when it came down, ironically a load of people complained.) I could either upload it to the site, or I could submit it to the EZine... what do people think?

I will leave that Q for Douglas, but I will submit the EOTS rules to him ASAP and then perhaps we might be able to share a little project a group of us are working on at the moment for those 28mm players amongst you in the issue after that...
