Thanks Jimbo I just love the paint jobs and basing on Carl's stuff. The Salamanders look great- the only thing better than them is the SL army he has done- the SL figs have tio be some of the nicest Epic sclae figures I have ever seen. Can't wait to see what he makes of the Eldar. Cheers James |

I'm scratchbuilding an epic ork speed freek army from carboard, paper, and little bits of metal & plastic. This no doubt leaves me with nothing but vehicles (the main reason to do speed freeks), but still, the speed freek list allows for a lot of variation in that. Now, I first drew up a 2K list (which actually was illegal, with 835 pts of gunfortresses in one mob), which, because of modelling issues, finally didn't really appeal to me. I made a new list, at 3K, which seems to be the regular game size. A lot of mob sizes are like this because it costs more points (I'm a bit lazy, and orks are simply with a lot!), or I already built the models. Still, I'd like to know what you think of this list. I now present to you: Da shiny stuff tribe! (II) Da mastas blitz brigade, 8 gunwagonz, mekboy speedsta, bad ork smallwheelz (bike boyz), 2 flakwagonz...370 Blitzers wan, 4 gunwagonz, mekboy speedsta, flak wagon, gunfortress...370 Kult of speed, 8 deth wheelz (buggies), speedsta, extra deth wheel (buggy)...275 Blitz koptas, 8 deth koptas...250 Blitzers too, 4 gunwagonz, mekboy speedsta...200 Blitzers tree, 4 gunwagonz, mekboy speedsta...200 Blitzers for, 4 gunwagonz, mekboy speedsta...200 Speed kult too, 8 buggies, mekboy speedsta, two extra buggies, flakwagon...335 Da bommerz, 5 fighta bommerz...250 Da scorchas, 8 scorchas, mekboy speedsta...250 4 gunfortresses...500 3K 81 models in 11 mobs, 36 of these models are built, 30 of those painted, and 8 others half-built. You'll probably be better off combining some of the blitz brigades into a larger formation. Small ork mobz find it hard to rally. Also, your supreme commander is an infantry unit in a formation of AVs - he is destined for a very short life as all AP hits will be allocated to him. Pics of finished models? |

I thought about your comment, and noticed a small rule in the speed freek list that gave me enough hope to build this list (and I just managed to build a further 20 buggies today!): Da Mastas Kult of speed, 8 deth wheelz (buggies), speedsta, extra deth wheel (buggy), bad ork smallwheelz (bike boyz)...275 Blitz koptas, 8 deth koptas...250 Blitzers wan, 8 gunwagonz, 2 mekboy speedstas, 2 flak wagonz, gunfortress...555 Blitzers too, 8 gunwagonz, 2 mekboy speedstas...350 Blitzers tree, 8 gunwagonz, 2 mekboy speedstas...350 Speed kult too, 16 buggies, 2 mekboy speedstas, four extra buggies...350 Da bommerz, 6 fighta bommerz...300 4 gunfortresses, 2 flakwagonz...570 3K 85 models in 8 formations.
