erh.. well the topic title pretty much says it all... If somone haven't noticed the official Necron List is up in the Vault. Looks pretty good (though I'm not really a fan of Necrons) -an increddibly tough army: almost all units seem to have reinforced armour! Also some pretty nifty special rules. Check it out! ![]() Cheers! |

Hi! The best proxies are old epic SM chaos androids or Global games Inferno skeletons, but unfortunately are both very hard to come across. In net epic Necrons in service of the slann use "battlesuits" so we use battletech inner sphere power armor, but that may be too specific to our fluff for use as a standard GW necron proxy. Irrgeular makes 6mm skeletons for fantasy, with some conversions on your part they'd make good necrons. Primarch |

Just d/l'ed the list. Gonna have a read soon, but from what do I hear some things aren't as they should be. (Reinforced Armour on pretty much everything??? Jeez, that's just nuts!) |

Global Games made 6mm figs? I remember the guy who got me into gaming started with Planetstorm/Legions of Steel as his first game, and his dad knew the game designer who sold minis from his house apparently. And yes, I'd be inclined to check out 6mm skeletons myself for Necrons. As for the reinforced armour on everything, I haven't looked at the list yet, but as long as they cost boatloads of points I can see it - after all, they have a roughly 50% chance of self repairing according to the background if shot up. EDIT: Well, I read the list. I can understand the whole thing with Inspiring representing the anti-inspiration these units provide to the enemy, but that doesn't really make sense for the Necron Lord. The Flayed Ones represent an utterly visceral fear - the skin of what could very well be your buddy Joe who disappeared when investigating the planet you're on earlier could well be that skin. The Pariahs cause a psychological revulsion, and so that's understandable. As are the C'Tan - standing in front of entities of such a level that they measure energy by the output of multiple stars would be fairly... disgruntling, to say the least. But the Lord? It's not really all that different looking from the rest of the 'Crons. Bigger head, I suppose, and the staff. I mean, if I managed to stay gruntled fighitng millenia old beings that looked like skeletons, I think I could still remain gruntled while fighting one with a bigger hat. |

Well, Hergmir, in Wh40k Lords have access to two wonderful pieces of Wargear: Gaze of Flame and Veil of Darkness. These have amazing effect one enemy morale... |

how spooky is this? Not being a 40k player (nor much of an epic one either), I was in GW (The Plaza) lunch time and laid my eyes on the Necron 40k models for the first time! I was blown away by them, and almost picked up Codex Necron just for the read. The 40k models are fantasic and realy got my imagination going. I come home and find a Necron list has been uploaded! Now to arms... I have a few Chaos andriods in my bits box, which if I keep to three a stand will give me a few warrior stands, but what can I do for other models? I've found an old Borg Cube model which would do as a monolith with a coat of paint. I have a load of Warhammer skeletons, could one of these be used as a Necron lord, or would it be just too big? Hi! I think it would be a little too big. Primarch |

Way too big - Warmaster skeletons, although too organic, would work much better, although they are still a few mm too large. Painting them in metallic colours would help. |
