Finally finished preparing all of my new space marine stuff to paint and have decided to paint them as Imperial Fists (almost did Space Wolves, but army list plans are no doubt in the pipeline for SW, so may do them as a second army later on). Anywho, was just wondering which chapters are represented by the SM players on these boards? Seems like a lot of people are building armies for Crimson Fists, Raptors and Dark Angels, but would be nice to see the spread. |

I have been painting the Silver Skulls. About 8,000 points done now (or will be, once I get the spray varnish out tomorrow), with another 2-3,000 yet to do. And I'm sick to death of painting  I figured that I was unlikely to meet too many other players with Silver Skull armies, whereas Ultramarines, Blood Angels and Space Wolves are ten a penny. Seriously, a nice metallic figure is a piece of cake to paint. I'm actually looking forward to buying and painting the Necrons in 2007 now

You got that right V/C ! Although I field UM, SW, BA, DA and Salamander SM Units, much of my Ork stuff is metallics ! And I too look forward to the Necrons !

My main SM force is Dark Angels, my very first Epic Army with most minis of 2nd Edition era. It is a big army of about 6 full companies, plus Deathwing, Ravenwing and Ironwing Companies I also have a Battle Company of Flesh Tearers to add to them as allies, just because their fluff is so kewl. E40k era miniatures. In the pipeilne, a Battle Company of Black Templars, again because I liked their fluff in the novel Crusade for Armageddon. |

Hi! I'm a traditionalist when it comes to chapters. I still only use ultramarines and Imperial fists. Heck I dont even like space wolves...although that may be due to there "cheddary" flavor in 40k second edition. Primarch |

Dark angels, currently painted are: 2x termi formations 1x scout 3x assault 2x devastator 4x tactical 3x Whirlwind 5x Landraider 3x Thunderhawk 2x Landspeeder 3x Bike. Much more unpainted of course

Hi! I liked the fluff on how they follow the codex and on how they didn't have any "cheesy" special power or such like the other chapters. I also like how they are the only space marine chapter with a mini-empire within the Imperium - Ultramar. Primarch |

Hmm... I liked dark angels because they were one of the few chapters who wore sensibly coloured armour - dark green and black!  Hey I finally made 100 posts!

When I started painting Epic miniatures, the Dark Angels still wore black. So nobody was tempted to paint their marines as Rainbow Warrioirs, then? (Don't disappoint me and say you don't remember THAT lot.) |
