Hi! If only life followed such concrete, simple rules like wargames! I know how you feel. I finished about a a year and half ago a 3 year streak that was very "unpleasant". Fooling around with games and posting on the net can have a calming effect. Especially on a board with nice people like this one. I hope fresh air enters through the door you opened.  Primarch |

I don't like the defensive fire concept. Seems very artificial. |

Looks good at a glance save for the battlesuits having reinforced armor. This combined with the ubiquitous 4+ save makes them as durable as a Leman Russ or a Land Raider, which really isn't the case in 40k. Come to think of it, my only grudge against E:A is that ALL AFVs seem to have a 4+ armour. From a Battlesuit to a Banenlade. There's no variation.

Unfortuately on a d6 sliding scale their isn't much room to spread everthing from a 6+ infantry save to the 14 all around armor on some vehicles. ?Then for good measure there are the invulnable saves. ?  It's the price we pay for upscaling..get it..."up" scaling...but the minis are smaller...it's funny...really. ?  Lots of things tend to fall into a common range bands. ?The reinforced armor on the crisis suits must represent the shield drones and such that make are part of that unit. ? Of course we could always play 40K+. ?Using epic minis with 40K rules. ? ?but I think epic rules are more fun.

Good points, but I prefer the latter rather than a return to the old days of rolling zillions of dice to smash through that 2+ armour save.....

Hi! The 2+ armor save was easily thwarted with a -4 save modifer weapon like a volcano cannon. Can't be simpler than that.... Primarch |
