Hello all,
Can anyone tell me if (usign latest ork army lists from GW) if the 'free grot' you obtain for boyz in an ork warband applies to the regular boyz?
i.e. Normal bad 2 Nobz, 6 Boys & 2 grot.
Does it work like.
a) 6 Boyz and 2 grot = 4 free grot (1 per 'unallocated' boy)
b) 6 Boy and 2 grot = 6 free grot (1 per boy)
c) 6 boyz and 2 grot = NO free grot, cos they are not from the Extra's?
Cheers all, could ask on the GW forums, but I prefer to use this forum!

When you buy a warband, you get what it says - 2 Nobz, 6 boyz and 2 grotz. There are no freebies in this section.
As you said, when you buy boyz from the extras section, you are allowed extra grotz if you wish.

Shadowhunter,
That does seem reasonable by any normal 'army list' standards.
My only though is why?, if they are free and you have the ladz available to shanghai them...

It seems a little odd at first why the boyz from the warband dont get a grot stand each. I guess the reasons could be that;
A warband should be made up of Ork boyz in the majority, they are the fighting element of the Ork race, and grotz should never outnumber them.
There would be a shortage of Grot stands if they were in a ratio of 1:1 with Ork boyz.

I've long since stopped following the development of all the variouos army lits on the SG playtest forum. Following them all is just becoming too time consuming and i'm just getting fed up with some of the "squabble" over details (not to insult any of the people who put a serious effort into platesting of course )
However I was wondering what the status is for most of the lists? Are some of them settled so much that we might have something close to a finished product?
Cheers!

I have only followed the Nid one lately and the Chaos ones to a lesser degree.
Maksim has done a bang up job on the Nids, and has been quite dynamic in pushing out the changes and canvssing everyone for their opinions.

BTW,I sent Doug some of my Eldar, IG and Chaos TO&Es to post on this site, as some of you asked. They are not revolutionary, but a melding of Epic systems + ... He'll try to post them when he gets them ...

I, too, give credit to those who are putting in a serious playtesting effort.

Chaos, L&D and Nids all have a deadline to turn into Jervis in September.
Both chaos lists will be affected by changing Summoning rules that are pending. The Black Legion list is down to a handful of issues. The L&D, imho, is nearly done and lacks only point adjustments from Audrey's last version.
I requested that MC23 submit the Ulthwe list to Jervis for the Rules Committee consideration and approval. I think it's been pretty much done for months. Hopefully, Black Legion, L&D, and Ulthwe will make a nice "Eye of Terror" e-release package.
Tau deadline is scheduled for sometime around December or January. Most reports say it is very close to complete.
Pretty much everything else could reasonably be considered "back burner" at this point, but a few are close to ready. IMHO, the Blood Angels is nearly ready. The other Eldar variants still need to be adjusted, but are close and could be done in a short period with a bit of intensive playtest.

Thanks Neal. That was exactly the kind of intel I was looking for. Nice to hear about the chaos lists in particular. These are the armies I plan to concentrate on in the near future.
Cheers

Of course, Nids is on the list too.

Dont get my blood up in excitment again Dafrca - I dont want the dissappointment if it all falls over.
Then again, I'm gearing myself up for what even Primarch would call a "Big purchase" when they come out...

It is hard to know how long it will be available and who would want to try and get some through ebay then.
I have bought some IG at full price because of that. My next "Large" buy will be if they redo the nids to look more like the new 40k ones. If they are just a re-release, well then I'll pass.
