Situation:

Broken formation is within 5cm of another non broken formation. Opponent activates for engage either one and declares intermingled for both.

Question:
Are both defending formations considered as being broken?
If so, are both destroyed when they lose that engagement?

No and No
From Official FAQ
Quote:
Q: If you charge an ‘intermingled formation’ consisting of a broken formation and a non-broken one, and you win by 3 pips, do we kill off the entire routed formation BEFORE assessing the extra 3 casualties on the non-broken formation?
A: No. The extra casualties go on before the loser breaks.

So for resolution tue intermingled formation returns to 2 formatiins again? So I do not consider the whole formation as broken when looking who has more bm? It is not completely clear to me.. sorry

From the rule book 1.12.7
Quote:
Assault Modifiers
The opposing formation has more Blast markers
+1**

** Count broken enemy formations as having as many Blast markers as units.

So BMs on non broken formation + BMs from broken formation added together gives total BMs for that action.
