So what is the color of the Heresy era Sons of Horus ? It looks like a pale blue-gray ? Does GW make such a color ?

Hi! I thought it was more of a shade of white with Gold trim when they were still loyal to the Emperor. Then it became black under chaos. Primarch |

You want the Luna Wolves or The Sons of Horus colors? (they've been pictured in the greenish grey since the Horus Heresy art books from 2004ish and more White prior when they were Luna Wolves) |

For sons of horus the standard GW colors are to use dawnstone base, highlight Adminstrtum Grey, wash with Coelia greenshade. You'll likely want to hit.it with some bkackwash in the recesses. Vallejo and P3 all have a seagreen color that you you can apply direct as a base for that same shade but GW paints require a combo to get the SoH "color". edit: FW makes airbrush paints so likely they've got a color there? |

Another tweak would be administratum grey and then white highlights then the wash if you find the other is too dark for your preferences. You'll need to do some experiments to see what you want. |

I shall experiment ! Now ... I'm considering buy the FW decal sheet which would have some smaller insignia for SoH for the Heresy era. For vehicles and Banners, etc. ... I'd have to sell off the rest on eBay ! So we'll see if my [another] new project comes about !  Many thanks again JZ !

I used vallejo game colour paint for my SOH heresy tank test scheme page 82 in my thread if your looking for a suitable green, note it is a bit darker than in the photo as the flash has brightened it. Colours used on page 83. |
