hi.

Tau will be my next list after my Eldar are done. Reading some of the army rules i had some questions.

1. Guided missiles can be fired without line of fire if the target is marked (markerlight). So can they gain the +1 to hit for Sustained fire along with the +1 for the target being marked.

2. Blast markers suppress units who have line of fire to the target. Units with Guided missiles can fire without line of fire if the target is marked (markerlight), so if the unit has blast markers can they still use guided missiles without the effect of suppression.

3. can Pathfinders with devilfish Garrison. They do fulfill the first Garrison requirement.

Thanks
Kalpesh

I was playing tau two tables over at the Ocho; you could've asked questions then :P

1. Yep, the modifiers are cumulative: sustain plus marker light gives you a +2
2. Guided missile units are still suppressed. I've always used the range portion of the suppression rules so that if I have 4 piranhas (for example) and two BMs, only two can shoot if all four piranhas are within 90cm of the target.
3. Pathfinders can garrison. Think of them as SM scouts with rhinos.

Not quite.

Q. When are units that are armed with a weapon that does not require a line of fire suppressed? Q:

A. Only when they are within range of a unit from the target formation.

Does that mean that if I have my units with Guided missiles, outside of the targets units ranged weapons, I can ignore Suppression?

What Hena said. The range of the target's weapons have nothing to do with it... :(
