Post subject:  Question - moving cautiously through dangerous terrain

Hi - I have some questions (sorry if answered before) - I guess a separate thread for each is best...

First one is about moving cautiously. Given that it says...
Quote:
1.7.1 Multiple Moves
If an action allows units to make multiple moves, take each move one after the other, following the rules that follow for each move (i.e., don’t simply add the movement distances together). For example, a Space Marine Tactical detachment (Speed 15cms) taking a March action would make three moves of 15cm each, rather than one move of 45cms.

and
Quote:
1.8.1 Dangerous Terrain Test
...
Units may choose to move through dangerous terrain cautiously. A unit that is moving cautiously counts as having a speed of 5cm, but is allowed to re-roll any Dangerous Terrain tests that it fails.

Question: when making a multiple move can I choose to make some of the moves cautiously at 5cm e.g. into/out of dangerous terrain and the other at full move speed?

Thanks!

Yes. So a tank that is in dangerous terrain may declare a double or march, travel at 5cm per move to get clear of the dangerous terrain (taking the DTT for each 'move' of 5cm in DT but getting a reroll), and may then travel at it's normal speed for its 2nd (and 3rd) moves.

thanks - this came up last night but I didn't ask you (and interupt your game) because it wasn't a big deal - I can see why some people think not as it isn't explicitly stated that you can. I wondered whether others thought like you that it was ok, correct even to do so.

It is worth noting that a 5cm consolidation move is also by definition "cautious" . . . .
