Hey all, I recently was bitten by the Epic bug, something about collecting an entire Chapter o Marines appealed to me. That was until I saw the amazing Sisterhood models from Onslaught, just jaw dropping. On a side note I am glad/sad the Juno is not in 28mm. So I find myself on the verge of taking advantage of the free shipping option, but before I pull the trigger on it, I have a few questions. I understand that Marines are not considered a beginners friendly force, however the sisterhood just fit the Marine list perfectly. Is there a list that would be a better fit? Assuming Marines are the best answer, what do you think are the must haves for a beginning force? I was thinking of collecting a Battle Company (2 Tactical Detachments with the Lovely Juno APC, 1 Assault Detachment and 1 Devastator Detachment without Transports) What should I add to this to have a balanced and fun to use/paint list? In the end I will grab at least 1 or 2 of everything, but to start I want to get stuck in straight away. Thanks for your time guys Malarith |

there are a couple of a sisterhood lists here and here no idea as to how balanced they are, I know Consul Avenging Angel personally and he's been doing good work with his list ![]() if you go down the marines avenue then a battle company is a good starting point, you will want transport for the devs, and will almost certainly find assault marines to be quite bad at their intended role ![]() |

Termies are a must for Marines. Why not transports for the Dev's? Marines need to be mobile.... |

Cheers for the links to the sisters lists kyussinchains, will look over them in detail a bit later. I will go with Marines for the time being, I can always make the swap later. And knowing myself, swap back and forth until the heat death of the universe. Ok so Terminators and more transports, that's easy enough to add to my list. Would the Dev's get more out of Razorbacks, or just go the standard Rhino? My list would look something like this so far Tactical Company - 400pts -Commander -Hunter Devastator Company - 375pts -4 Razorbacks -Hunter Terminator Company - 350pts Assault Company - 225pts -Commander Scout Company - 150pts That brings me to 1500pts, is this a good starting size? Cheers for all your help so far Malarith |

Malarith, whereabouts are you based? Nothing better than finding some local players. |

change commander for chaplains, way better. divide up the razorbacks and put them in different units. Marines are a assault force, not a shooting force. A Lascannon razorback in each formation will help you put BM:s on opponents if you can't engage them. Put a chaplain with the termies, they are going to teleport/air assault behind enemy lines and can't afford to loose engagments. |

also, try to find 1 or 2 warhound titans and 1-2 thunderbolts (or proxies), they are very good additions to marine armies. |

Im based in South Australia, so it may be a bit hard to catch up for a game carlos ![]() I will have a look for some Thunderbolts and Warhounds, however shipping to Oz tends to wipe Ebay off the list. Are there any good Proxies for the Titans? And Thunderhawks for that matter? |

PFE, that is as good as a next door neighbor in Oz ![]() I had a rummage in my shed an came across my old Mechwarrior gear (the plastic clicky base ones). Would they be a good match size wise for Titans? Also some of the Battle Armour looks like they would make great Dreadnoughts. Also managed to score 12 Land Raiders, would it be worth running the Tacticals and/or Terminators with them? Come pay day I will be putting my money where my mouth is, only a few days to go! Can't wait |

I've used Mechwarrior click-base stuff for Titans too, but went for true scale representation, i.e. my warhounds are pretty big. |

Welcome dude! You can't go wrong with using Sisters models as Marines, I did that for my first army (Linked in my sig) Have you joined the Wargamer AU forum? The epic thread there will have a lot of Aussie players in it and you'll also see all the events that get held across Australia pop up there |

The Space Marine list is definitely a better fit for the model range. I personally like SM bikes a lot, and the Sisterhood ones look great. I haven't had much luck with Land Raiders, but you probably want to use them on their own. Too few activations if you use them as an upgrade. I'd recommend starting at 2000 points. Not sure the game works as well below that. It's common to start at 2000 without aircraft and war engines, and then build up to 3000 (the standard game) and beyond. |
