Is anyone aware of, or has anyone come up with a way of playing a three person battle (not allied)? Looking at trying to play something over the Christmas holidays. |

Make the game about something else than murdering eachother, let it be a side effect of the battle. Otherwize, you pretty much always have two people ganging up on the third, who can then choose which of the two others he despises the most. The third will almost invariably be the winner. |

Yeah - it's a bugger that one. We played a system previously where you gain points for each turn you hold an objective which means that ganging up tends not to work so well. The problem was balancing having too little space to manoeuvre with a board that was so big that anyone playing Eldar had a massive, massive advantage. |

We have done this a few times on a board that was triangular with the corners removed so deployment isn't too narrow (I forget the real name of the shape!) An objective in each corner and a the following - 3 objectives in the middle with holding 2 of 3 for 1 turn meaning auto victory OR - 1 objective in the middle and the first team to reach it gets reinforced with 1000 of additional forces or - Just down to points It worked well and lead to some interesting assaults with 3 forces.... The other way we played it is that 2 forces fight 1 with the singleton having a bigger force BUT the allied forces have to automatically shoot or engage each other if they come within range (representing an uneasy alliance) means the singleton has a chance to pick their fights. |

Steve, we've ran this scenario at the club before: ![]() |

Interesting. How wide is the board? |

Normal board. But notice it's 2k armies. With the measurements above, units at the limits of their deployment areas are equidistant to all others. |
