How many BM's?

I plan to make some blast markers (inspired by Bob), as a noob I'm unsure how many I will need. In an average game, let's say 3k, how many BM's would each side need?

Depends on how you like to multiply them. For instance if you want one per BM then ... loads :)
I prefer dice myself so one per formation

Maybe the size and number of "jets of flaming wreckage" on each mean something? Like small diameter but 2 jets is 2 bm? A larger base is based 5 +jets?

Some members of the L.A. group calculated this, and I believe the number was 26 BMs would suffice for 96% of 3,000 point games... I don't remember the exact numbers, but I am pretty sure the magic number was somewhere around 26.

that sounds about right to me.....

depends on the armies, my guard tend to pick up and keep lots of blast markers, marines tend to shed them quickly, as do orks and EUK tyranids

I've made a dozen or so clump foliage ones which I reckon will probably be enough for most games, I should make a couple of big ones in case I need to represent 5 or more.....

I would think per army. It also depends on how many formations you have. When I play Admech and have only 8 formations, 26 is plenty.

I've done all the wire twisting for 15 small and 3 large, totalling 30. If all goes well I may make another set.
