So this came up last night. Seemed like a dumb question but in light of "the great flak debate" were weren't so sure. Couldn't find an FAQ (though i'm sure someone now will :D ) We had a titan which got hammered in FF but ended up winning as we decided the hits on void shields don't count in resolution. Were we right ?

Hits on titan void shields. Do they :

A. Count in the assault resolution ? (The chart says "kills" but we know hits on multi DC WEs do count.)

B. Generate blast markers (inc the one for coming under fire.)

They don't count for combat resolution or BMs, though of course you would receive one for coming under fire.

Remember only BMs cause adverse effects, not Hits (check out 1.3 on Blast Markers).
As Zombo says, Hits on shielded titans do not count where they do not cause damage and thus generate a BM, either in shooting or assault. From the rules:-

Imperial Titans are protected by void shield generators. The number of void shields each Titan has is noted on the Titan’s datasheet. I might be new to the game, but that doesn't appear to tally up with anything in 1.3. Surely it should be 'Remember that only damage causes adverse effects in combat, not hits'? The BMs are coming from the damage after all.

This still gives us an explanation in that Void Shields stop the damage from happening.

Well at least this didn't cause an international incident ;)

Sounds like we were playing it right (presuming IJW is correct in his clarification of "damage.")

He is. A stand removed or a WE that lost a point of damage is what counts in assault resolution, not merely hitting something with your CC or FF value.
