So I'm picking out my 'Standard' 3K steel legion list and I can't seem to make it all fit nicely.... Steel Legion (NetEA Compendium 1.0) ================================================== REGIMENTAL HQ [700] Supreme Commander, 12 Infantry, 7 Chimera, Fire Support Platoon (4 Fire Support), 2 Chimera, Hydra INFANTRY COMPANY [350] Commander, 12 Infantry, Fire Support Platoon (4 Fire Support) TANK COMPANY [650] 9 Leman Russ, Vanquisher ARTILLERY BATTERY [250] SUPER-HEAVY TANK PLATOON [200] Shadowsword VULTURE SQUADRON [300] 4 Vultures SENTINEL SQUADRON [100] 4 Sentinels THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS [150] 2 Thunderbolts WARHOUND TITAN [275] Giving me a total of 2975 points..... how can I spend the remaining 25 points? I don't want to buy an empty chimera for the HQ company if I can avoid it.... any ideas (I'm not averse to re-jigging) from anyone? |

Drop the Fire Support & Chimeras from the Reg HQ, and get yourself an extra sentinel squadron, plus 2 Snipers & a Chimera as a formation Upgrade somewhere? |

Aside from dropping the Warhound for something else? I'd say a 25pt disadvantage is fine, I'd leave as is in terms of points cost. Why only one artillery formation though? I've found you want at least two to make some sort of progress against counterbattery fire. |

Vultures are effectively a second artillery formation. |

Eh, not really. One shot AT onlys? Effenctive against armored targets, but not terribly flexible and not a threat throughout the game. Apaches are nice, but they're not artillery IRL or in-game. |

Ok, I dropped the russ company in favour of baneblades to free up some points, I dropped the fire support from the HQ and one of the chimeras, and added some snipers, with the spare points I was able to fit in a second artillery battery (one will be manticores, the other basilisks) how does this compare to the original? better or worse?
