If I engage a formation on overwatch and get into base to base does the overwatch formations get cover saves if they are in the open? |

I think, but someone will know, that once the overwatching formation has fired at the engaging one they are no longer on overwatch and would therefore not get cover saves. |

Yup, novemberrain is right. If they choose to forgo the fire though they get cover saves. If they win they're still on overwatch even if they counter-charged and consolidated. |

Infantry in the open on Overwatch doesn't get a cover save. They get only the -1 to hit if someone shoots at them. |

P.18 in the rulebook says they do. And that the cover save is a 5+ cover save. |

Was this maybe changed in the 2008 errata? I didn't think they got a save either. |
