Hey there, so me and a few mates are looking at having a really big gaming day before I leave the country. We have the option of an enormous game, or games that somehow tie-in with each other. Has anybody any information/advice/links etc for the latter?

Bear in mind that larger epic games take exponentially longer to play!

As it happens, our group is running a one-day event next weekend that should culminate in a massive team battle; Here's the proposed rules we have to manage it within a reasonable timeframe.

Feel free to comment on possible weaknesses, we haven't actually done this yet, so it may still bog down. Any tips and advice is welcome.

It will, regardless, be an Epic sight, we're expecting 30K or upwards points per side, all painted, on nice-looking terrain too. I'm really looking forward to fielding my 8K Titans :D

SpeakerToMachines: I dont know if you found them but the epic rulebook has a section on big multiplayer games, its a bit buried, but has guideline on hierarchical and simultaneous multiplayer. Its in section 6, p148 in the GW .pdf.

One comment I have on your setup is I think you have far to little space, three 6' tables is not a lot for 30k+ per side. When I do big games I generally allow a 4'x6' table per 3000pt army (ie generally about the same as tourneys) so a 6000/side game we use 2 6' tables (ie 6'x8'). For 30k I would use 10 tables as a starting point, now my experiance is that this overestimates a bit so would probably drop to ~8 tables, but I definately feel 3 is too few.

Additionally, I dont think you need to limit formations near each other from activating simultaneously, it allows combined assaults between 2-3 players and really speeds the game up as formations get killed rather than hurt/broken. Terrain is then the limiting factor, so if terrain is set up with this in mind then its fine.
