Hi guys, Possibly the wrong forum....? I'm about to start an IG force, and am trying to decide how to paint them up. Does anyone have any links to any online references of tank-esque colour schemes? My search-fu is weak, and right now my effort levels are weaker..... Provided the principle colour isn't yellow (I have Bad Moons) or blue (ditto, but Ultramarines) then I'm open to suggestions. Cheers all Reedar |

Are you looking for a solid color or camo? Likewise, are you looking for a natural color or a more heraldic/bright one? |

Preference is for solid over camo, but this is purely from an ease of painting point of view. If a camo scheme is easy/quick enough to churn out then I'd be willing to go down that route. From colour perspective, I'd say natural over heraldic. Cheers SG |

For Woodlands/Jungle, I like Catachan Green with Camo Green Drybrush and Badab Black Wash. Kommando Khaki with Bleached Bone DB and Devlan Mud Wash would work for Khaki, as would Graveyard Earth with Kommando DB and Devlan for a darker Khaki/Brown. Desert Yellow with Bleached bone and Gryphonne Sepia or Codex Grey with Fortress and Badab are nice, too. |

Perfect, cheers guys. Whilst I felt kinda dirty for looking at the GW stuff for inspiration - it was useful! Think I'm going to do test models for both a green (woodlands/jungle) and a khaki look. I've been eyeing up a new camera lately, so who knows, I may even post some pics of how they come out.... Cheers Reedar |

The trick is to make them stand out from the base. My woodlands/jungle scheme combined with green and brown basing is a bit boring. (As seen here for example). I'm thinking of stripping them and starting over now that I've got my orks painted to a playable level. |

A fun way of doing camoflage is to mask the miniature with Plasti-tak: the picture hanging putty. Certain types of putty will hold well and come off easily. |
