Hi everyone! I am in Bath (UK) for the next 4 months for an exchange semester. I was wondering if there are any E:A enthusiasts in the area who would be open for a game or two. I didn't bring any miniatures so I'd have to borrow some, but I'd very much like to see how my favorite game is played around here! ![]() cheers, Markus |

Hi Markus! Myself (ryan), Reedar (Darren), Hymirl (al), and Edgarsan (Ben) all live in Bristol or surrounding countryside and would be more than happy to play you as well as having plenty of armies (well...i do!) to loan! We usually meet at Cut and Thrust Wargames on Old Market St on Tuesday and Thursday evening as well as an odd trip to the PIGMAR wargames club in Bath itself on sunday's: darren is especially close to that one. I'm in Oxford at the moment but will be back come a week on monday and would be well up for a game :-) Lemme know if a tuesday or thursday is OK for you: if not then I can envision a bike ride to bath for me! great! thanks! ![]() I just googled the PIGMAR club, isn't that far away from where I am staying (city centre). It might be a week or two before I join you though, because I need to get things sorted around here, see what I've got to do at the university, stuff like that... but I will definitely drop you a PM in a week or two for a game! cheers, EDIT: since there are quite a few of you in the area, I don't expect you haven't already raided every possible wargames-store in the area for OOP and rare Epic stuff? ![]() |

er...yeah...think We've pretty much depleted the local areas stock and we held an epic bring and buy at a local tourney last month! THat said EdgarSan is always pretty good at finding local boot bring and buys so I'd ask him and there is one store I know of (though can't remember name) where stuff still turns up quite often! |

Hey mspaetauf, welcome to Bath! Quote: darren is especially close to that one. He's not wrong. I work in the centre of Bath so can easily pop down to Pigmar. I don't go that often, purely because of the lack of Epic players. They're a really nice crowd though. Generally speaking I drive over to Bristol; more players over there and the store MoK mentions (Cut n Thrust) is excellent. Loads of tables and plenty of Epic scenary. Give us a shout once you're settled in and we'll get something sorted. Cheers Reedar |

thanks ![]() I was just looking for cheap ways to get to Bristol. Then I thought if you kind of have something regular going on (weekly meetings like MoK said), and you drive over to Bristol I take it you have a car, so maybe I could hitch a ride? that'd be great! I didn't quite understand if you have regular weekly meetings in Bristol, or if you just meet there for the odd game or two. cheers, M |

Generally they're more random - whenever our weeks throw up the same free time! You're more than welcome to hitch a lift with me though. How's the exchange going anyway? Cheers Reedar |

yeah well.... I have to say that the "academic" part, with Uni, project (team) and stuff is all going fine; the accomodation though is quite.... hmm well not so good problem is the walls are very thin (i can hear people cooking 2 floors above me) and back home we have a different acceptance of noise, so if you were to go cooking and slamming doors in the middle of the night you'd have a hell of a problem. not here though... I was about to PM you these days, because I have an exam on Friday, but after that I'd love to have a game or two. so watch your mailbox ![]() cheers, Markus |
