Hi Cornelius!

Just came back from the club and had an amazing time. My first epic game (in full control, not being mentored) since 1994! We had 3 games going on at the same time and we were missing some regulars so yes, next week we'll likely have even more people. Bring your army if you have one, although half of the Epic players are just now getting into the game so you might have to be a bit patient.

Yeah we have maybe 5 grizzled veterans and (just recently) perhaps the same again green.

Last night was amazing (and mad for me) 3 games going on with me running the lot and trying to play at the same time (though as Carlo's mentioned his game was fairly self sufficient)

We basically played on 1 big 12 x 4 table divided into three. One "team" on one side and another "team" on the other. Not allowed to cross bounderies and a full complement of objectives in each table so in reality 3 separate games. 2000 points each

team 1 Richard (marines), Ian (marines) and Carlos (eldar)
team 2 Dave (marines), Me (orks), and Mike (marines dominated by a massive warlord titan)

It didn't help Mike that I gave him a rubbish army out of the bits I had left over after giving Dave his army. And I suppose that the fact that a quarter of Mike's army went down in flames after a Nightwing interception from Carlos's pointy eared gits at the beginning of the game wouldn't have helped him either! (I hope he's not too miffed!)

My game with Ian was a long slog of my huge ork army grinding forward in a massive blob with Ian's more tactically superior marine picking me off round the edges and me snaffling him back as he did so.

Richard and Ian's game looked like a right classic space marine duel.

Anyway, Richard and Dave's and Ian and my games declared as draws, team 1 won by virtue of Carlos's win against Mike.
Boo Hiss!

A great time was had by all, expect plenty more madness in the future.

I didn't realise we were teams until you pointed that out! Thanks for your patience last evening, Alan. I've just discovered I was reading the wrong rules for my Eldar, using the old GW list instead of the updated NetEA list. Looking forward to next Tuesday!

I dont' think it matters much. Which list you use depends on what you agree with your opponent. The GW list is Official. The NetEA list isn't. Some folk might prefer you to play the offical list, some recognising that the NetEA one is better would prefer that. On most occasions I don't think anyone would be that arsed!

Most of these guys are still very very green. some have yet to make a complete army or have an army at all. hence my lending of stuff.
Ian's probably the most advanced. Whether he'd be interested in tournaments I dunno. Carlos might be once he gets in the swing though I shouldn't really speak for others should I

Ian is keen to trot along to local one day'ers if circumstances permit.

Shame I won't be coming till the end of October at the earlist :(

I'm on the same boat as Ian, so also keen to come to local one-dayers. My army is about a month away from being ready and I think I need 4-5 games more until I stop being embarrassingly ignorant of rules.

Mind you, I have to tell you Carlos, if you do one tournament then you will be hooked!

You might even find yourself one day at the 3 day event in Manchester or even in Brussels - like some of the other maniacs around here.

Notice given!
