I quite like the idea of a Dune/Atreides/Fremen themed army.
Thought I'd ask here about potential army lists that could be
used to Count As the various features of the novel.
Have had a look around these boards but not picked up much coverage.
Am hoping to get some pointers or suggestions or . . . inspiration.
Items I'd like to try and cater for include:
Fremen, Worms, Ornithopers, Spice Harvesters(?), Heavy Lift Ornithopers,
Guild Spice Bribes (virtual spacecraft?), Fedaykin, Ducal Troops, . . .
Characters might include: A Duke, Bene Gesserit, Mentats, Duncan Idaho,
Gurney Halleck, various Fremen, and others
Weapons of interest would include: shields, weirding way, but probably
not the family atomics except to take out terrain features(!?)
Some army lists that I thought might be possible included:
Imperial Guard generally - Commissars provide a good character role.
Death Korps of Krieg - Big WE transports (worms?), fortifications around the capital.
Catachan - Catachan Devils (Fedaykin?), Deathworld Veterans (Fremen?),
Valkyrie and Vulture (Ornithopers?), Leman Russ Demolisher (Worms?)
Elysian - Drop Troops (Fremen teleporting in from desert or dropped from orithopters?),
Several Flyers (Ornithopters), Iron Discipline (tough troops), Tauros and Sentinals (Air-lifted vehicles).
Harakoni - probably couldn't due to being named after House Harkonnen(?)
Anyway: Grav Gliders (Guild Lighters or House Frigates?), Skimmers (Ornithopers?),
Line Breaker Column (Fremen on worms).
Space Marine - Heavy Lander, various airbourne assts,
Anyway, any thoughts, . . . ?
