See this thread here for the latest version of the newest fan made supplement, Epic Siege.
Technically, this fan made Epic supplement was started before Raiders, but I think E&C got distracted along the way by a few things (courting FW, Raiders, AMTL Champ responsibilities, etc.).  As he told me over a year ago, "I can't say no!" :;):

Now Epic: Siege is virtually complete and almost ready to go to print.  Siege covers the Imperial Guard's Death Korp of Krieg and their fight against the Mossinian Rebels.  The Space Marine White Scars also make an appearance in the book.  There are three full army lists, modeling sections, a full fictional account of the battle, scenarios, painting tutorials, and plenty of great artwork.  Heck, the cover alone makes the book worth buying!   :agree:

In any case, we're coming down to the printing side of things and I need to get a feel for how many people are interested in a printed copy of Siege.  These numbers really help me in figuring out how much upfront costs I am going to have for the original print run since the higher the number of books the cheaper the per-book shipping costs to me are.  I've set a sale price of $14US plus shipping which should help bring us into the black.

Siege is going to be printed in a similar manner to the Epic: Raiders book and the only stylistic difference will be the layout which is the A4 paper size as compared to Raiders which was done in 8.5x11in N. American standard.  The cardstock cover, glossy pages, and oodles of Epic goodness will still be there.  Also, people looking to purchase both books can definitely see a savings on their shipping costs.

Raiders & Crusaders, Inc., my non-profit organization, will be selling the books and all company proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.  Originally Raiders was to do the same thing but the proceeds ended up going to the government to pay for fees.  However, with Siege being the second book available, we should actually see the some money going to the charity finally.  It also means Raiders & Crusaders Inc. will remain viable for printing more Epic supplements in the future...
Epic: Total War
Epic: Black Crusade
Epic: Xenos

...And others!

Thanks in advance for your support.  Please post your comments here and let us know what you think.

Yep; a seige list made up of otterware products amongst others is my plan once all the rest of my stuff is painted; as such i can't cough up a pre-order due to current lack of cash but WILL be buying a copy of Siege when the time comes.

I would love to support something like this, however my concern is with the rules.

Is there any consideration given to the rules or stats being changed on any of the forces in Siege or Raiders? Have these forces been given an official tick of approval for being balanced?

Not knocking the idea, just wondering where potential money is going, that's all.

Thanks

AFAIK the Death Korps of Krieg is well tested, the Mossinians nearly untested but very similar to Baran and the White Scars are an official army with some minor changes.

I'm not going to buy Siege because the armies detailed therein aren't of much interest to me, but that doesn't mean I won't be interested in future publications (quite the reverse).

Hena raised an interesting issue, however. Is the White Scars list featured in Siege the Epic UK version?

This is of concern to me; if the army turns out to be significantly imbalanced (either too strong or too weak) it tarnishes all the Raiders & Crusaders books.

Some heavy playtesting, against a variety of armies, should happen for at least a month, I'd warrant.

That's my point

Why is there this push to print items with little to no testing. It just does not make sense.

I like pictures as much as the next guy, but I also like to know that the book I am using is going to last a couple of years and not be out of date within a month or so..

Of the included army lists, the only one I consider unbalanced at this time is the Mossinian Rebels, and they will be fixed before publication.

To charity.

Yes it is.

There wasn't a NetERC White Scars list before Siege, so I whipped one up on my own without ever being granted the NetERC Championship. After the EpicUK group released their list I found that either they'd based their list on mine, or we'd just gone down very similar paths.

Either way I decided to adopt their list as there were only a couple of changes from my version and both made sense to me.

Do I like the way the EpicUK list was developed?
No, I think it was bull-headded and foolish to ignore offers of help from outside their small clique, I think several of their lists have been hurt by it.

But I think their White Scars list is better than my one, so I've adopted it.

I've asked Hena for his comment on the list's balance/structure, but he has not replied yet I think.

Oh and I'll probably take ten copies.  :))

I will not send the book to the printers until the Mossinians have been fixed.

Good to know

Does that mean that the Raiders book is all balanced or are there concerns in that one as well? (as per option A)
