Hello everybody! I'm confused! And I have a question!  ![]() In the rulebook it says that a unit only looses its ZOC if it is in base-to-base contact with an enemy unit (or one enemy per starting DC for war machines). So now I read the official GW FAQ .... here's the quote (copy&paste from the pdf): Section 1.13: Regrouping & Broken Formations 1.13.2 Becoming Broken Q: Do broken units still exert a Zone of Control? A: Yes. The only way a unit loses its ZOC is if it is in base-to-base contact with two enemy units (or a number of enemy units equal to twice its starting DC if it is a War Engine). So, when did this get changed? And apart from this answer, where can I find it? It should also be mentioned in the assault section. Can someone clarify this? cheers, |

The FAQ is a mistake. It's one unit or one unit per DC. 1.7.3, 2nd paragraph: Once a unit has been contacted by an engaging enemy unit, it loses its own zone of control for the rest of that engage action (including the ensuing assault). For WE: 3.1.2 War Engine Zones Of Control War engines have a zone of control like any other unit. In an assault they only lose their zone of control once they have been charged by a number of units equal to their starting damage capacity. |

There may be some confusion (for the FAQ writers too) as you can only have maximum 2 units in contact with 1 enemy, whilst the minimum to lose ZoC is 1 unit in contact with 1 enemy. |
