I can never remember, for each round fought is it total damage/casualties to date, or just the ones from that round (so if first round I do 6 casualties, but its a draw, and the next round  I do 1, is it +1 or +7 to the dice roll in round two resolution?)?

Total damage.

1.12.7 Work Out Result

If a second round is fought then any casualties from
the first round carry over when working out the result of the
combat.
