Fumbling through a few more games, finally played 3000 with war engines, aircraft next ÂÂ

We're now getting to the stage where we have the core rules fairly sorted, but some of the stranger or poorly worded extra rules are causing issues.
I think I've solved this one by reading the rulebook but just wanted to clarify, MW EA weapons only apply to the extra attack, correct? Is it the same for infantry stands that have the ability naturally and those that gain it through a character?
So for example in combat a terminator stand would have one regular CC attack and one MW CC attack? Same with a tactical stand with a chaplain added?
