This is likely going to sound like a kinda stupid question. But when exactly do you roll for criticals? The rules don't specify, though with the way they're written I'd assume you test after each point of damage is dealt to the target. It's not important for most War Engines, but for certain ones (Eldar come to mind) It can be highly important since they'll lose some defensive ability when critted.

You are correct.  Each time the WE actually takes a point of damage.  That is when you roll for a critical.

I'm very sorry, wraeththu, but I don't think that you really answered the question. ?At least, I am still uncertain. ?Let me illustrate; a detachment of Devastators shoot at a formation of Revenant Titans. ?They roll well and score three hits, which are all assigned at the closest Revenant. ?Does the Eldar player: (a) roll Holo Field saves for all 3 hits, then roll for criticals on any hits that cause damage, or does she (b) roll the Holo Field saves for 1 hit at a time, see if it causes a critical, and if it does, roll normal armor saves for the remaining hits?

I really, really think the answer is (a), but your answer sounds like (b).

It's (a. The rules state that the Holo-field save may be taken in place of the normal armor save. So three saves are rolled and the Revenant takes hits and critical rolls for all of those that get through. If it had Reinforced Armor, it would get a 're-roll' of the missed  holo-field saves using the 5+ armor value.

A).  All hits in a single volley are resolved at once.

You wouldn't roll for critical effects individually any more than you would roll saves individually and keep allocating hits to a specific unit until it was killed.
