One gun. See the Oddboy entry on p.108 of the rulebook.

I'd like to get a clarification. ?I've been laboring under the impression that the Zzap gun or Soopa gun replaces the Big Gun, but now that I re-read the datasheet for the Oddboyz, I think that it is supposed to be added to the Big Gun. ?After all, Oddboyz are characters and when you add a Commander to a Space Marine stand, it doesn't replace anything.
Have I been mis-interpreting Oddboyz for the past year and a half?

although this has never come up for me, as I understand the rule the oddboy model replaces the big gun model (visual reference), but you add the stats for the oddboy...meaning you still get to use the big gun stat too.
Is this correct? (neal?)
the rulebook wording does seem to suggest otherwise, but I have seen no FAQ reference regarding this...

Notes: Ork Oddboyz can be one of two types: Big Meks or Slavers. Both are Characters. A Big Mek can be added to a gunwagon or gunfortress and upgrades one of the big gunz on the vehicle into a Soopagun or Supa-Zzap-Gun with the characteristics shown above. A Slaver may added to a big gun and upgrades the weapons on the unit into a Soopagun or Supa-Zzap-Gun with the characteristics above. |
The rule book does explain that you upgrade the gig gun to a supagun or supa-Zzap-gun and would also upgrade 1 gun on a gunwagon or gunfortress if the oddboy was chosen for a warband,KoS or Blitz Brigade.

...but the character rules (2.1.1) state that a character and its profile are added to a units and also specifically states that the unit keeps its original gear...the wording and intent of "upgrade" in the oddboy entry seems to be the crux of the confusion.
again, no FAQ to say that the oddboy replaces the big gun entirely...I see the point, but based on the core rules I disagree with the application as dptdexys indicated.

Basic rule of rules interpretation - exceptions supercede more general rules. Otherwise, they wouldn't be exceptions, would they?
Character rules supercede general unit rules. The Notes section of the Oddboyz unit data sheet is specific to that unit and would therefore supercede general character rules.
The Soopa/Zzap gun replaces the big gun on the appropriate unit, meaning you lose the big gun. All other stats would stay the same.
