Post subject:  Question about Formations

Hi
As I've said in a previous post I'm new to the forums and to epic, I always wanted to play epic, and decided to just jump in. I've bought some items from e-bay (including the 40k vertion of the rules with 4 issues of the firepower mag, these where a bounus I just want the SM figs). I've downloaded the latest rules. In E:A it says that formation size is determined by the scenerios, I've looked through the rules, and I can't find anyother rule on how big the formations should be ie how many stands of each type, can anyone point me in the right direction, all I'm really looking for is a page number.

Thanks in advance

The E:A rulebook (a free download) has in section 6 the army lists, these say how big a formation is for the Grand Tournament scenaro. Other scenarios are up to you. The unit stats incidentally are in section 5.

Thanks guys,

found it now, I think it's a shame they don't provide point costs for each stand, I like the flexability of that, then you could have a common baseline when designing scenerios, and have the option of useing the torney lists for quick pick up games

Cheers

Actually, the tourny lists are used for pick-up games, as they provide the balanced base from which all else is derived.  You'll find that some armies have more flexable formations than others, which typically reflects the character of that particular army.  Marines have very few options and are thus very consistant (they follow the Codex carefully), while Orks could be different every time you play them, 'just depends who's up for a fight on any given day...
