Dark Eldar, Minervan Armored Legion, and Necron Lists for Epic are available!
Epic: Raiders can finally be downloaded. The file has been zipped and compressed and is about half the size of the Beta but is still considerably large (20MB) and is over 130 pages long. Open it up, check it out, and have fun!
Thanks to the folks who helped clean up the errors (some of the them pretty bad) on the Beta version. I am sure there are other errors to be found and plenty of other 'gray issues' that could nitpick the effort to death. Unless something glaring is in need of change, it will have to stay as it is. Given the list of erratas from
Armageddon's publication I don't feel so bad.
What is Raiders? If you are reading about this for the first time,
Raiders is a fan-made supplement for the game
Epic: Armageddon and is not official in any way. You should not assume that this makes the lists any less balanced, the information any less useful, or the games any less fun. Enclosed is information for building Minervan Armored Legion, Dark Eldar and Necron army lists. Since models are not available for the latter two, detailed modeling sections are inside to help you convert these armies.
Playing and PlaytestingAs the army champs for the three lists within
Raiders, Corey and I will be leaving them alone for a year. We encourage you to play the lists as they are printed, post batreps, and discuss as always. While you should not expect immediate change, your opinions are being listened to I can assure you. Be aware that, like any list, your experience from one game to the next can vary greatly and as such you should trust in your fellow gamers that the lists are balanced fairly well. ?Only after many, many games from multiple players against different opponents should changes be considered.
Can I get a copy of Epic: Raiders printed?Well, that is the question and there is no answer as of yet. I have a few new 'friends' within Games-Workshop and through them I have contacted -hopefully- the right person within their Legal Department. While I am not an attorney,
Epic: Raiders seems to comply with all of GW's
Intellectual Property (IP) issues. The goal is to eventually print off this supplement to go along with
Armageddon and
Swordwind and have any profits go to the American Cancer Society. Time will tell if a nicely bound book can be a reality and this original post will be modified as information comes in. There is no problem printing your own if you just can't wait though.
EDIT as of May 19th, see this for printing info.
Final ThoughtsDo feel free to post any thoughts, criticisms, requests, and questions. If you are using the modeling section(s) I would love to see your work - be sure to post pictures to this forum and show them off.
PLEASE make sure to read through the credits page. Almost fifty people contributed in some way. If I have left off anyone off it is entirely unintentional and you should PM me immediately.
Take care, enjoy, and may fortune favor the foolish.
