Hi Guys, Alright, I kaiboshed the whole uber artillery idea and instead decided to stay true to my roots and go Ulthwe all the way. I've completely nixed any artillery whatsoever (since you folks always make sure to take it out to begin with anyhow) so here is what I've cooked up. I'd love input. 3,000pts Ulthwe Eldar Warhost Wraithgate (50) 1. Avatar (0) 2. Black Guardian Warhost (525) -Farseer Council -Farseer -7 Black Guardians -3 Wave Serpents -2 Falcons 3. Guardian Warhost (475) -Farseer -7 Guardians -3 Wraithguard -3 Wraithlords 5. Guardian Warhost (300) -Farseer -7 Guardians -3 Wraithguard 6. Engines of Vaul Troupe (750) -Storm Serpent -2 Scorpions 7. Fireprisms (250) 8. Dark Reaper Troupe (150) 9. Vampire (200) 10. Nighthawk Interceptors (300) TOTAL: 3000pts Units: 53 Ok, I have a couple of questions about this list. What do you think are the best alternatives? 1. Should the Engine of Vaul Troupe stay as one formation (at 750pts and thereby being the Break Their Spirit goal) or should the Storm Serpent risk it on his own the let the Scorpions go tank hunting on their own? If they should stay together do you think I should consider replacing the Scorpions with Cobras for some TK artillery (up close and personal) and some token extra Anti-Air? 2. Are 3 Super Heavy Tanks too much or should I take a tank out and replace it with another formation (such as jetbikes, falcons or rangers)? 3. The Dark Reaper formation in the Vampire: Would you rather face them with 2X5+ AP at 30cm and a 3+ FF value or would 6 Rangers with 5+ AP but sniper ability be scarier? Thanks for your input! Adam. |

Not sure I'd keep the EoV's together. The two scorpians I can see working but all 3 have conficting uses. The storm serpant will need to get close to the enemy to allow its wraithgate to be used for an assault while the scorpians want to use the long range MW to keep the enemies war engines at arm's length. PS, Are the Black guardians 8 or 9 stands strong? If 9 you are short one transport slot. Just my 2p worth! |

Nope, black guardian are 8 stands strong. 2 farseers, 6 guardians. So would you feel, given these conflicting roles of the Storm Serpent and the Scorpions that I might be better off replacing the Scorps with Cobras instead? Adam. |

Looking at the stats of the cobra it would sit better if you still want to have them in one formation. Really depends what your plans are for your storm serpant. If your not planning a march move to retain and assault with a formation out to the wraithgate teaming them up wouldn't matter too much. Think I'd still go with the storm serpant alone and the others in a formation. But's that just me having been kicked right royally by the march, retain and assault tactic ? ![]() |

The issue that I often find with the Storm Serpent on his own is that it is often a target of priority for my opponents: They don't want to be assaulted by whatever comes out of it. I agree about the Cobras, however, the more I think of it the more I'm leaning towards having them in the formation as opposed to the Scorpions. Adam. |

I have found this problem as well and I countered it by adding a second Storm Serpent to my list. ![]() And I would split the Scorpions up. Tiny |

I like the EoV composition of two scorpians and the storm serpent. The SS is a highly desirable target for the enemy. Keeping it protected by the two scorpians allows it to survive a little longer, and it also allows you to soften an area up for the arrival of off board troops. Malakai |

If you're going to use the other EoV to soften up an area why don't you use Cobras? Tiny |
