Hi
Just wonder how people allocates hits to formations that come under barrage fire.
The way we play it at our game club is to use the barrage templates to determine how many AP/AT dice to roll.
Roll the dice and apply the hits as per the standard shooting rules, ie closest applicable target within range and line of sight to the firing unit (ignore the line of sight bit for indirect fire).
But i get the impression that it should be played as if the hits can only be allocated under the barrage template.
How should it be played?

I believe the letter of the rules is that only models under the templates can be hit. Those models should be allocated from front to back as normal.
However, for ease of play, the way you have been doing it works just dandy and we often do it that way because it is faster.
