Hi,

Forgive me if you don't find this funny but:

I started wondering today: What's actually left of Epic Armageddon as of now?

I mean  - what's left that can be taken away and have an impact on the game's future? Nothing!

That's very very bright actually! I mean - you got nothing, so what do you've got to lose? NOTHING!  :D
(I don't remember the exact quote of mr. Gilliam).

The only thing I could find that would have some was perhaps The Mail Order store... but then again - most people buy their cars, grunts, ships on ebay anyhow, right? Or Forge World for that matter.

So as I see it  - things can only go up from here.

ps. Do not mention the Feral Orks.

Here's a link to a Q & A with jervis from GenCon that seems to indicate there are still a few more releases to come from specialist games (including feral orks) within the next sixth months.

So perhaps things arn't so bad, at the end of the day support for specialist games was cut back because games workshop overestimated the LotR bubble and was forced into some rapid restructuring.

But support wasnt dropped and given time will probably grow again (just slowly)

The main thing that can be taken away, as far as I'm concerned, is the expectation of new minis. No new minis, no new players. You would still have veteran players, like me, still playing, but many others would lose interest. Unfortunately, many players lose interest in a game when GW ceases supporting it. However, I think it's safe to say we can expect some new things in the future.

What I find hard to believe is that the "brain trust" at GW thought interest in LOTR would continue much beyond the release of Return of the King. Even I saw that coming a mile away.

I readily admit that I tend to be a pessimist, but I do truly believe E:A will survive a little longer. Granted, it might be a lingering death...

Epic -it be E:A or NetEpic- will never die as long as there's miniatures available. If official support ceases I think there's a big enough following to create NetEpic Armageddon. The main problem is as always supply of miniatures so let's keep our fingers crossed that GW will keep everything available and perhaps supplement with some of the archive stuff. :;):

Cheers! :)

Problem is, there have been no new Epic articles since the Fanatic magazine was dropped. That is, articles which were not published in said magazine.  Support indeed...

I'm a fan of the online rulebook. Great start in converting others to the 6mm scene. "Wanna play epic? Free rulebook online." That line always sparks some level of interest. It would just be nice to see some positive development on the miniature front. The fans I think are doing a great job with rules, but make the general armies, chaos, nids etc. all available from the online store. Even if it's the previous edition sprues which are re-released I don't think many would be upset. Chaos and 'nid especially would be nice to see on the UK site.

Yeah chaos and nids really outta be dug out!

Hehe... I guess NET-Specialist Games is the future. I just asked a certain mr. Chambers whether BFG 2.0 is still planned.. or whether it got squashed in the SG redux... and to his understanding it did!

So who's ?p for Net-BFG?!?!?!

O.K., I won't mention F/Orks probably being out in early '06 !? :laugh: Look forward to that !   Regardless, we can keep Epic alive and rewrite rules here ! But I doubt we'll see anything new model-wise for 'Nids or Chaos, anytime soon if ever !  Tau and Kroot, we may see some more stuff from F/W ?  But Necrons will probably remain - dead ... :{

Hi!

Man, everytime I hear feral orks I feel a cold wind of death pass over me.....

Eldar exodites?!?!?! SHOWN!?

I never saw them!

But on subject: I wouldn't at all mind i GW took a more Reaperish approach to the specialist appartement and only did miniatures and no rules. At least no new rules. Finished rules yes - but not new versions or other things. Leave that to the fans.
