I'm scratchbuilding an epic ork speed freek army from carboard, paper, and little bits of metal & plastic. This no doubt leaves me with nothing but vehicles (the main reason to do speed freeks), but still, the speed freek list allows for a lot of variation in that. Now, I first drew up a 2K list (which actually was illegal, with 835 pts of gunfortresses in one mob), which, because of modelling issues, finally didn't really appeal to me. I made a new list, at 3K, which seems to be the regular game size.
A lot of mob sizes are like this because it costs more points (I'm a bit lazy, and orks are simply with a lot!), or I already built the models. Still, I'd like to know what you think of this list.
