Ok, a situation happened in a game I had the other day and I would like to find some clarification.

I had a Devastator Detachment on overwatch as a garrison at the start of a game. My opponent teleported Terminators in at the start of the first turn and subsequently one the initiative. He then engaged my formation of Devastators, now do I get to fire on him prior to any assault occuring as his movement would have triggered the overwatch? Or does he just move straight in?

And are there any new forum boards for SG? and can someone send me a link.

Cheers'
Aaron

He moves into position (Perhaps even into B2B).

Your devestators fire at him (Yes even if he's in B2B).

If he lives, the engagement now begins.

Fair enough... I tend not to claim cover for touching my own vehicles in tutorial games too, for the same reason.

Mind you, I always make a point of losing tutorial games on objectives, making sure to point out that I've (Normally) killed more enemies, but lost the game because I 'forgot' about the objective markers...

Yeah, I tend to give a way plenty of trade secrets when playing with new players, pass on wisdon gained from nearly 20 years in uniform doing it for real.

E&C - is there something about claiming cover from vehicles that is considered "ungentlemanly"?

Not at all, but it will be very foreign to noobs as a concept, so I tend to leave it out for the first few games... they need all the help they can get at first!

It would be if it was an enemy vehicle that was being used to claim cover during an assault from incoming ?overwatch shots ?

@E&C fair point.  Wasn't ever a rule that I have seen much confusion over but YMMV.

@dptdexys yeah, I think that in my presence that kind of practise would trigger another round of overwatch fire... my rulebook to the head :)  I assume that this "over-sight" will get corrected at some point (only enemy stuff that stays on the field after its dead should provide cover).

No.  You can clear your cookies and log into the UK site, which still  has a portal to the Forums for now.

There will be a non-GW replacement.  Mod_Lex and CS, among others, are working on it.
