hi people, it's a good idea to adapt the E40k fatecards to Epic Armageddon? I remember that the games using this cards was more fun, what do you think? cheers Bans |

No way. I hate those pointlessly random events that screw over a battle, and I especially hate having to have 8 decks of cards to be able to play a battle. One of the plus points of EA for me is that they streamlined all the card based nonsense out of the game. |

Yes, I too see them as random events cards ... It just depends what you want the game to be ... |

Doing a campaign and having them as rewards can be good though! |

I don't know what they exactly did achieve but maybe cards with less effect? Like the sub-plots in BFG? |

As L4 noted, it just depends on your style. Most wouldn't be hard to adapt (at least from what I recall) - deployment options, spacecraft added for orbital bombardment, an Inspiring bonus in an engagement, etc.. Personally, I like the campaign awards idea. In that case, I would think of a system where you had categories based on the assets deployed, e.g. if Chaos is going into a system near the Eye of Terror, they get a card from a "warp" deck or if a force has large amounts of spacecraft they could get some sort of "spacecraft" card. |

I Actually really liked the id?a of the subplots from BFG. Fate cards was the singel most annoying feature in Epic:40k, so much that we agreed not to use them when we played. /Staffan |

I like the idea about rewards in a campaign or inspiring events or habilities that can be used by a character only one time, not as a special hability. My idea of this cards is to support some actions or give you advantage in one game turn. example: title:"We are under enemy fire!!!" description:only can be used in Assault phase by a unit being attacked, the unit recieve a 1D6 barrage points. All the units afected must roll a saving dice as normal, the units recieve the blast makers as normal and are affected by broken rules as normal. what do you think? |
