Has anybody an adaptation of Epic Armagedon for the WWII?

It could be a success like Warmaster Ancident Battles!

Blitzkrieg Commander already does WWII very well.

And the system suits the genre in a way that Epic really wouldn't. Epic, despite being a sci-fi game, has the 40K over-reliance on close combat and BKC also has better artillery rules.

I'd check that out for your WWII fix instead of looking to create a WWII variant for Epic.

It is true, but there are also several dedicated WWII 6mm games out there (my set of choice is Mein Panzer!). However, if you like the EA rules engine then, why not? I am not aware of a WWII port for EA, but it is something that has come up in the past in discussion.

If you have ideas on this, or wanted to start the board rolling, let us know your suggestions (would you change the core rules?) and perhaps we can put this together as a community effort.

I actually started work on one and stopped

Three main issues
1) Artillery rules needed to be reworked
2) game was never balanced for the use of smoke
3) close combat focus

The core rules also have an issue working with the wide range of armour and AT weapons that developed in WWII. Over the course of the conflict you go from Panzer II and IIIs to King Tigers and JS2s.

Here is a link to someone's (Benjamin Asmussen) conversion of EA for WWII.  Not alot of information, just a few changes to the main rules listed and US and German army lists.

Sure, I never said that there wouldnt need to be changes. But, Blitzkrieg Commander changed the core Warmaster rules a little too. The question is, are the changes small enough to be worth the effort, and still keep the feel of the original game?

I am not an expert on WW2, but I am sure EA could be adapted.

Close combat could be reduced to firefight, the tecnology development could be saved segmenting the army list in periods where armour and penetration power would be balanced from 6+ to 4+.

My main motivation is to avoid buying and learnig new rules :).

The problem is that in 1945 all sides still fielded early war stuff (out of desperation or in different roles like scouting) and the new ubertanks were available. Not very easy to balance.

Wouldn't be impossible.

Armour
Early: 4-6 + saves
Middle : 3-5+ saves (extreme cases reinforced)
Late: 3-5+ reinforced saves (extreme cases DC)

Guns
Small: 5-6+ AT
Medium: 4-5+ AT
Big: 2-4+ AT

But to make it even better, I would create range bands, where a gun would have TK a 1/3 MW at 1/3 and normal AT the rest. Even a puny gun could take out a tiger out of the battle with a lucky hit or at short range(ok, it would be easy to get in to battle worthy state afterwards but for the purpose of this battle it would be out of the fight).

I'm guessing now but I think it would work.

I like the first propoursal of Shoel about armour saves and guns a lot.

The range bands is not my fall, I think it brings unnecesary complication. Wiht the actuall rules, and keeping the armour save allways over 3+, there is a chance for every puny to destroy a Tiger.
